Plant Description
Native to parts of southwestern Pennsylvania, dwarf crested iris stands at 4 – 12 inches tall and makes a good ground cover in partly shady areas with moist, well-drained soil. It spreads by rhizomes but won’t take over. It can be found in woody sites with peaty soils. Spring blooms of purple or white attract hummingbirds and bees.
