Plant Package Description

This is a collection of full sun plants that provide food for birds and other wildlife. These taller growing plants look great together and will do well in a moist, well-drained garden soil. Leave the spent seed heads in the fall and watch as birds enjoy these nutritious snacks. Each plant is attractive in bloom and add winter interest.

Purple love grass attracts butterflies and moth, is a host to Zabulon skippers and the seeds are a high value food source for song birds.

Joe Pye weed grows to the heights of 6 feet tall (and sometimes taller!) and will do well at the back of the garden or in an area with a lot of space. Joe Pye seed heads can last well into the winter and attract American goldfinch, Carolina wren, dark-eyed junco, and tufted titmouse as well as many butterflies and bees.

Dense blazing star attracts a variety of beneficial wildlife including butterflies, bees, humming birds and other birds.

Cutleaf coneflower, also commonly called green-headed coneflower or tall coneflower, stands tall with Joe Pye weed reaching 6 to 10 feet tall! Couple with Joe Pye Weed at the back of the garden or along fence lines and watch as butterflies feed on flower nectar in the summer and songbirds, such as goldfinches, feast on seeds in the fall.
