Plant description
Penstemon digitalis produces one of the most spectacular, and long-lasting early season shows blooming in late-spring to early summer. The trumpet-shaped, white flowers are densely clustered around stiff, erect stems that can grow to a height of 5 feet tall. Basal leaves and seed heads persist into winter. Grows in average, well-drained soil in full sun. An excellent pollinator plant, it attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and serves as a host plant for butterflies. Deer resistant and drought tolerant.
