These deep plugs are typically the preferred size for plants that are shallow-rooted. The additional width of these plugs allows for horizontal growth of the roots, which benefits many species of ferns and sedges.

These plugs are landscape-ready, but also offer a head start should you be interested in potting them up.

Package Description

Our shady oasis plants will make your shady spot shine with bright blooms of purple, light blue and pink and beautiful textures in green. Collectively, these plants prefer access to some sunlight, so don’t stick them in the deep shade. They would make a beautiful understory planting under an accent tree, in moist, well drained soils. If you are looking to support wildlife in the shade these are the plants for you! Each contributes to a different aspect of your garden ecosystem:

·       Northern Maidenhair offers nesting and cover for birds and other wildlife.

·       Jacob’s ladder supports native bees with an early nectar source. Butterflies and moths will also visit this flower.

·       Fringed bleeding heart attracts hummingbirds and butterflies, as well as other beneficial pollinators and is resistant to deer and rabbits!

·       Wild Blue Phlox Cultivar is favored by bees, hummingbirds and butterflies, including swallowtails and gray hairstreaks.
